On June 3rd 2015, Accra experienced devastating, savage torrential rains. The hiatus culminated with an explosion in a petrol station, killing over 90 people as they innocently took temporary shelter from the downpour. The deluge blocked streets and access routes making emergency rescue virtually impossible. The total impact affected more than a million people, through loss of life, homes, livelihoods and property, causing millions and millions dollars’ worth of damage.
